Course Reflections
This marking period was very busy, with preparations for the chinese new year taking up much of the first half and then the voice thread project in the second half. This year's Chinese New Year performance went better than any others have before it. There were lots of very different exciting acts and I thinK that not only focusing on chinese culture but also inviting other cultures into the celebration makes our performance stand out. Other than the mishap with the C in CNY, the show went very smoothly and all of the acts were very well done. The stage managers were very organized and had help from various students. I think our level 4 performance went really well also, especially for how unorganized it seemed before the show. With all of the snow days we had we managed to stay on track and I feel like lesson 21 and 22 have gone really well and I have a solid grasp on both chapters' vocab and grammar. The project this marking period was our voicethread speech. I liked the theme of this project and being able to record a speech. The length of the speech was a little daunting at first but I enjoyed planning a trip. Learning about the three cities and their tourist sites. I liked a lot of the more scenic places to visit, like the parks are really pretty and I'd love visit them sometime. I really enjoyed this marking period and the new textbook topics are really interesting considering that they're much more relevant to us because they're mostly about college.
After every marking period we reflect on what we have learned and the changes that have happened in our course. It's a useful way to communicate with our teacher about the course and our learning, while also being a good way to summarize for ourselves what we have learned and need to retain.
